Past Perfect

* O passado perfeito é tão simples de entender quanto o presente. Ao invés de have utilizamos Had , que é o passado de have. Porém continuamos a usar o particípio do verbo principal. Observem as frases no presente simples e nos tempos presente e passado perfeito.

Entre parenteses está o verbo e o particípio dele, para ajudar na compreensão.


1- I am your friend. ( to be - been)

*I have been your friend.

**I had been your friend.


2- She thinks of you. ( to think- thought)

* She has thought of you.

**She had thought of you.


3- I buy some flowers for my lady.(to buy- bought)

*I have bought some flowers for my lady.

**I had bought some flowers for my lady.


4- Do you work here?( to work - worked)

*Have you worked here?

**Had you worked here?

5- He learns a lot with you.( to learn- learned/learnt)

*He has learnt a lot with you.

**He had learned a lot with you.

6- She doesn't understand English Very well.( to understand- understood)
*She hasn't understood English very well.

**She hadn't understood English very well.
